Weโre proud to share that Ubuntu Birth Partners have officially started practicing!
Ubuntu Birth Partners are trained volunteers who provide compassionate, culturally sensitive support to Black African women throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postnatal period. They walk alongside mothers as trusted companions, offering emotional reassurance, practical help, and advocacy especially for those who may feel unheard, alone, or navigating unfamiliar systems.
From attending appointments and helping mothers understand their choices, to being present during labour and offering support after birth, Ubuntu Birth Partners ensure that no woman has to go through this journey alone. They also play a vital role in supporting women affected by loss and bereavement, offering comfort, dignity, and a listening ear during the most difficult times.
This launch marks a powerful step forward in strengthening our community and uplifting mothers with care, respect, and understanding.
